Pipes
Turn the pipes until every flower gets water.
How to play
Tap a pipe to turn it clockwise. Join every opening to its neighbour, with no ends pointing outside the garden. Water flows from the cloud only through matching ends. Reach every pot to grow your flowers.
Hold or right-click to lock a tile. Use arrows to move, Space or Enter to turn, Shift+Space to turn back, L to lock and U or Ctrl+Z to undo. Consecutive turns of one tile undo together. Choose Easy 5×5, Medium 7×7 or Hard 9×9.
Five ways to reason it out
- Start with corner elbows. A curved pipe in a corner has only one orientation that keeps both ends inside the garden.
- Keep edges facing in. No opening can point out of the board. Use the boundary to eliminate orientations.
- Do not join two pots. Two end pipes pointing at each other form an isolated pair. They cannot connect the whole garden.
- Avoid loops. A closed loop leaves part of this tree-shaped network disconnected. Track the connections already forced.
- Do not seal an island. Every region needs a route to the cloud. Keep at least one possible connection to the rest of the garden.
Questions
Does every Pipes puzzle have one solution?
Yes. Every generated puzzle is solved to a single orientation for each tile using five logical rules. Boards that need guessing or have unresolved choices are rejected.
What are locks for?
A lock marks a pipe you are confident about. Hold it for 450 milliseconds, right-click it, or press L to lock or unlock. Undo can still reverse its last turn without removing the lock.
Why is a pipe dripping?
A dripping wet pipe points outside the garden, so it must turn. An open pipe inside the board has a dark mouth but does not drip: its neighbour may simply not be turned yet.
How do hints work?
Hints are available in practice. A wrongly locked pipe is pointed out first. Otherwise the earliest logical deduction on a wrong, unlocked pipe is chosen, favouring the wet frontier. That pipe is turned correctly and locked.
When does the daily garden reset?
At 00:00 UTC. Everyone receives the same frozen 7×7 puzzle. Only daily solves add a flower to your window box; practice results stay separate.
